Who deserved to be on Springwater Township council, this time?

July 20, 2017

Who deserves to serve 2018+ after what passed for watchdog groups have been neutered?

Who deserves to be trusted to serve corporate power, on County council as Mayor and Deputy Mayor?

Samuel Taliaferro Rayburn (January 6, 1882 – November 16, 1961) was an American politician who served as the 43rd Speaker of the United States House of Representatives from 1940 to 1947, 1949 to 1953, and 1955 to 1961, the longest-serving speaker in American history. He represented Texas’ 4th congressional district as a Democrat from 1913 to 1961.

What is AWARE Simcoe doing to stop the destruction of the Midhurst Community Hall on Doran Road?

July 1, 2017

Lots of puff articles on the Midhurst Ratepayers’ Association on http://aware-simcoe.ca/.

I haven’t seen anything from the Springwater Township “Council Watch” person Kate Harries.

There are significant changes planned in the governance of all township halls by Mayor Bill French, as well.

Summary:

  1. demolishing of the Midhurst Community Hall and
  2. muzzling of communities is of no interest to AWARE Simcoe.

Is AWARE Simcoe ignoring these issues because Mayor French is their “friend”?

“We demand Transparency and Accountability in governance (if you’re on our naughty list).

Otherwise if we help get you elected,

we’ll look the other way for 4 years as you blunder and plunder.”

The Midhurst Community Hall is the most important purely civic cultural asset in Midhurst. By far.

June 29, 2017

Former municipal seat of the townships of Vespra, Flos and Sunnidale.

Destroying it would go a long way to demolishing the community’s +200 year heritage. Destruction plan. Heritage justification: 1, 2

But it would make an internationally-financed mega-developer so HAPPY. And that is what minions do: they make their bosses happy.

min·ion

synonyms: underling, henchman, flunky, lackey, hanger-on, follower, servant, hireling, vassal, stooge, toady, sycophant

Will pumping the Midhurst Secondary Plan treated poo into Kempenfelt Bay/Lake Simcoe be considered a victory?

May 22, 2017

Was that 10-million litres of treated sewage a day?

Piped from either side of Midhurst to Barrie’s grid, treated ($) and then pumped into the deepest part of Lake Simcoe.

Is it an environmental win by NOT dumping the treated poo into Willow Creek — Minesing Wetlands — Nottawasaga River — Wasaga Beach (world’s longest freshwater beach)?

The start of a county-wide wastewater system?

Who will be selling this hard as a “win” for the environment?

Why my family is no longer a member of AWARE Simcoe.

Organizations are strong and then they change.

(l) Les Stewart SPCC, ON Premier Kathleen Wynne and Don Morgan, Chair AWARE Simcoe

On August 9, 2013, at a Barrie Liberal event (see above) I told Mr. Morgan that I had concluded that the Midurst Ratepayers’ Association, MRA were acting in bad faith. In effect, they were acting as an obstacle to defeating the Midhurst Secondary Plan. Previously, I had openly stated that conclusion to the then-MRA president.

I presented the concept of not-for profit control fraud to Mr. Morgan recently because I suspect the similar issue is arising with the Simcoe County Greenbelt Coalition.

With a development worth $40-billion, it should not be a surprise that deceit and “double-heartedness” occurs.

My background:

People are free to believe who they want to believe.

Time has a habit of revealing all deceptions.

The proposed changes to the Midhurst Ratepayers’ Association bylaws take my breath away.

April 27, 2017

I have never seen a not-for profit community group concentrate as much power in their executive.

Inconsistent with several democratic principles. Perfect to serve corporate or corporatist interests.

Midhurst Ratepayers’ Association annual meeting: “we recommend you vote with us to change the bylaws” (so we stay in power).

April 27, 2017

So we can continue to help our developer friends elect/re-elect our friends by creating a ticket into the next municipal election on Oct 2018?

So we can have our friends knock down the current Midhurst Community Hall?

A screen shot of the email from the current MRA.

Is it possible that +$40 billion development could turn a few heads?

Influence is the law in business, not the exception.
