Springwater Township, Ontario, Canada

Thesis:

  1. The Midhurst Secondary Plan, MSP is a violation of provincial growth plans.
  2. The Province of Ontario broke their own rules when they dropped the appeal of 50 per cent of the MSP.
  3. The closing of Springwater Provincial Park and the MSP are related.
  4. The MSP is the tip-of-the-iceberg of the “unofficial” plan for Simcoe County.
  5. Barrie will annex Springwater Township (attempt to resolve 1. to 4.).

Assumption:

Short-term concentrated corporate interests can temporarily subvert provincial, county, and township representative democracies (diffused power). All taxpayers will pay in the long-term for this multi-level opportunism (deceit with self-interest) delivered via credence good providers.

Terry Craig sings of a Midhurst that existed at one time and is also eternal.

August 13, 2013

The community will follow a muse’s re-awakening. It has no choice.

Broken churches cannot be healed with propaganda then counter-propaganda.

Fascists are quelled (both sides) through intervention of community muses and healers.

The Muses  in Greek mythology, poetry and literature, are the goddesses of the inspiration of literature, science and the arts. They were considered the source of the knowledge, related orally for centuries in the ancient culture that was contained in poetic lyrics and myths.

The Greeks got it. The Old “Midhursters” and Springwater Park – Camp Nibi has it too.

He calls them by name and they respond.

The Call pierces the veil of our vanity; transcends free will.

McLuhan: On the role of the artist, poet and sleuth

December 23, 2011

Marshall would have recognized Terry Craig as an artist and poet.

McLuhan quote alert:

  • The poet, the artist, the sleuth, whoever sharpens our perception tends to be antisocial; rarely ‘well adjusted,’ he cannot go along with currents and trends…. Their power to see environments as they really are.

Rainbow In The Wind

I once knew a mountain and a beautiful fountain that left me high and dry.
And I once had a friend supposed to have been until she let me go bye.
Then what could I do but laugh to myself
Although there was no glow that would shine within my mind and bring a cheerful delight
What was there to do but make the best of all there was to choose from those to be decided upon, those to confide in.

I was headed out the door which left me where I’d been so many times before
But I knew I had a rainbow in the wind that keeps on moving all the colours here within my mind.
There’s got to be some sympathy for those who cannot find a rainbow in the wind, a rainbow in the wind.

The second time around with the mountain the trees breathing in the breeze, why couldn’t I see?
The second time around with the beautiful fountain flowing down to meet the sea.
Then what about my friends supposed to have been maybe we could have seen and believed in the love that we had planned so many years ahead?
What we learned from all our mistakes provides us and then guides us to a better way of seeing life as it really is.

Now I’m headed for the sky I’m going to live for today and forget about tomorrow until I die.
And I thank You for my rainbow in the wind that keeps on moving all the colours here within my mind.
There’s got to be some sympathy for those who cannot find a rainbow in the wind, a rainbow in the wind.

School Days (on the second line), Terry Craig

December 23, 2011

From the album My Birch Bark Tree, 1975.

The third Midhurst school, S.S. No. 17 (1912-1962) was built on land, one-half acre from Lot 21 & one-half acre from Lot 22, Con. 2 Vespra. Each received $75 for their land.

School Days (on the second line)

Wintertime is here at last
As I’m headed up to the farm.
Above the hills the wind is fast,
With the side road snow-packed high.

Further down the road I find
My thoughts are looking back
To a time it was a time
When life was but a friend.

School days were the good old days on the second line
Where the drifting snow would fly
Not a care in the world in our minds
Only happy to live life.

School days were the good old days on the second line
Where nothing more was grand
Than to be in a wonderland
And seeing life so free.
Thank you Lord for making good our days.

Further on as time went on, it was plain to see
Over the years, the hard-earned years came reality.
No going back just moving ahead the days are running away
What little time we have to ourselves we still got our memories.
